Join Masefield Matters in the first public opening of the John Masefield Society archive during Heritage Open Days. Explore Ledbury, Masefield’s life and work, and the causes that were important to him through the range of books, correspondence, and artwork that until now have been hidden behind closed doors. Drop in during the week to find out more about Ledbury’s forgotten poet and how his childhood in the town shaped his career.

Masefield Matters is a project run by Ledbury Town Council to promote the life, works, and causes that mattered to John Masefield. The project will end with the commissioning of a memorial chosen by the people of Ledbury to commemorate Masefield's 150th anniversary. The John Masefield Society was formed in 1992 to stimulate the appreciation of, and interest in, the life and works of John Masefield (Poet Laureate 1930-1967).
