The Met Celebrates 50 Years of Culture
Derby Hall, Market Street, Bury, Greater Manchester, BL9 0BW
The Met is marking its 50th anniversary with a packed Heritage Week programme that blends nostalgia with fresh creativity. The celebrations open with an invite-only Q&A panel featuring poet Tony Walsh, who will debut a specially commissioned piece. Across the weekend, live gigs - including a performance by John Bramwell - DJ sets, heritage tours, and the relaunch of the welcoming downstairs café/bar will keep the energy high. Visitors can also enjoy the unveiling of a striking new artwork by Two Crows, career workshops, and a special event curated by Liam Frost - a fitting tribute to The Met’s role at the heart of the community for half a century.
