Carlisle Cathedral, The Abbey, Carlisle, Cumbria, CA3 8TZ
As a special 'Heritage Open Days' event, Carlisle Cathedral is hosting an exhibition of beautiful tapestries from The Methodist Tapestries Collection, from 12th to 21st September, during Cathedral opening hours.
Open to all, these 'stories in stitch' depict various Methodist people, achievements and events from the mid 1700s to the present day.
The Tapestries are touring Cumbria over the summer of 2025, culminating in this spectacular final venue. Everyone is very welcome and the beautiful, historic Carlisle Cathedral can also be explored.
In 2026 the Tapestries will find their permanent exhibition venue in the Weardale Museum, Ireshopeburn, Weardale, Co. Durham.
