Discover a heart-rending story of an amazing man. Plus bookable guided tours.

Discover a unique Museum, the only in the UK that holds a collection covering utilitarian equestrian items from antiquity to the present day and from many parts of the world.

Through the Museum's building and collection you will be able explore the Everyday Histories of locals, from the stories of local trades and workers through the ages including agriculture, mining, sport and coaching.

On the tour you will discover the Grade II Georgian coaching Inn in greater depth. The building, originally on the side of the Great North Road, has many interesting features and formed part of how the postal system was formed. It even has an original and very rare Mail Coach.
