Have you inherited things? Are you unsure of what to do with them? Join The Institute of Conservation in partnership with The London Archives, for this creative and practical online workshop exploring the how to manage and look after these items.

Lots of us will inherit things from our families and communities. Whether that’s a specific item or an entire life’s possessions, it can be overwhelming to know where to start with what to keep.

This online workshop will offer space and suggestions for how to approach this often difficult process, so you can decide what everyday histories to hold on to and how you can best protect the items for future generations.

Icon’s Public Programme Lead Dodie Finamore will facilitate the workshop and explore the everyday histories and sentimental weight things can carry.

She will be joined by Madeleine Marshall MA ACR, Paper Conservator from The London Archives who will share top tips on how to care for your items.

This workshop will be collaborative and a space for sharing.

We will answer as many questions as we have time for.

Each participant will receive a Collections Care resource after the session.
