The working folk of Venta Icenorum.

The industries around the periphery of the town were many and varied, and it was a thriving economy. Our archaeological digs have informed us that there were multiple industries which both served the town and created wealth by selling goods to other parts of the country and probably the whole Roman Empire.
We know that there was a thriving community of potters and metal workers. The Market outside the town thrived, and the Temple and amphitheater brought in tourists from far and wide.
The talk will take place in St Edmunds Church which is on the site at Caistor Roman Town, and will be presented by our Volunteer Guide Franz, who is an archaeology enthusiast with particular specialism in Caistor Roman Town.
The talk will be approximately 40 minutes and refreshments will be on sale afterwards, and we would encourage visitors to take this opportunity to visit the site whilst here, there are interpretation boards on site to support your visit.
