The Y Theatre - 125 Years In Music

The Y Theatre celebrates its 125th anniversary this year and has a rich musical history, beginning with Penny Concerts in the early 1900s, opera and musicals in the 50s to 80s to rock, pop, folk, metal and more – with visits from famous faces like Will Young, Grace Petrie, The Coral, Mahalia, Franci Rossi, Tim Minchin and Ward Thomas.

Audiences are invited to join in the festivities for the theatre’s landmark birthday through an interactive event that explores its unique musical heritage, curated by YMCA Leicestershire’s young people and supported by the theatre’s skilled team.
