Visit The Gibberd Garden
The Gibberd Garden, Marsh Lane, Harlow, Essex, CM17 0NA
Discover the "hidden gem" of Harlow this September. The Gibberd Garden, a nine-acre masterpiece created over thirty years by legendary architect Sir Frederick Gibberd, invites you to a free afternoon of history, art and inspiration.
Once the private sanctuary of the man who designed Harlow itself, this garden is now recognised as one of the most important 20th-century gardens in the country. Explore a whimsical landscape of "outdoor rooms," featuring a collection of sculptures, architectural salvage and a miniature moated castle tucked away by the river.
The heart of the experience is the former home of Sir Frederick and Lady Patricia. This "living museum" offers an intimate look at the architect’s personal life and creative vision.
House Tours: Open via timed entry from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
Tickets: Available on a first-come, first-served basis from our shop.
Expert Insight: Our volunteers will be on hand to share Sir Frederick Gibberd’s legacy and the garden’s evolution.
