In this talk, archivist Robert Curphey explains the history of Vickers Oils, a Leeds-based family business that has existed for almost 200 years.
The business was founded in 1828 and today is a world-leading provider of Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants, producing greases and lubricants for the food, textile and marine industries.
The family's origins and connections to the city stretch further back than 1828, and the talk will look at the history of the company through several generations of the family.
