The 1st film analyses pollution from sewage on the water courses of Roundhay Park & Gledhow Valley Woods. The 2nd is based on the documented sighting of a ghost in Leeds Library & the 3rd the interaction of a widower & a teenager who lost her father

1 The problem of watercourse pollution from combined sewage overflows (CSOs) is hardly ever out of the news these days. When the Oakwood Film Academy (OFA) learned that two ‘citizen science’ projects were ongoing in our area, monitoring the pollution levels of watercourses that feed into the Roundhay Park and Gledhow Valley lakes, we decided to produce a short documentary film following their progress.
This is not intended to be a campaigning film, but an objective, ‘fly on the wall’, look at the process and early findings of the ‘citizen scientists’. The two ongoing projects are being carried out by the Roundhay Freshwater Watch Group (linked to the Roundhay Environmental Action Project (REAP)) and the Friends of Gledhow Valley Woods (FGVW). The latter project started almost a year earlier.
In order to set the context, the documentary starts with a historical overview, showing how public sewers and overflow reliefs were first introduced in Leeds and how they are regulated.
2 Inspired by contemporary reports, and set at The Leeds Library, the oldest surviving subscription library in the British Isles, founded in 1768, we explore the still unresolved tension between those who viscerally experience contact from beyond the grave, and rejection by others.
3 For years, a harmless, lonely old man has passed every day sitting alone under the local clock tower - tower - until a teenage schoolgirl appears. Their instant dislike changes later when they find they have much in common
