Tour of Leigh Town Hall & Archives: Wigan & Leigh
Town Hall, Market Street, Leigh, Greater Manchester, WN7 1DY
Leigh Town Hall was between 1904-06 by J. C. Prestwich. We will explore the historic features of the building and then head down into the strong rooms of Archives: Wigan & Leigh where we keep 800 years' worth of records relating to the Wigan Borough.
A few years ago we were awarded £1.3 million by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, which with Council investment has allowed its historic interior to be restored to its former glory as well as a new home for Archives: Wigan & Leigh.
