A special exhibition at the Creative Health & Heritage Centre exploring how patients have been monitored and measured.

The Creative Health and Heritage Centre has a wealth of healthcare related artefacts that together tell the story of Leicester’s hospitals. For this year’s Heritage Open Days, we invite visitors to a new exhibition showcasing historical devices that have helped us understand the patient condition through measurement. The exhibition includes early ECG monitoring, blood pressure machines, weighing and temperature instruments as well as early hearing test devices. In an age where many of these measurements can now be done with the press of a button on a smartwatch, we are highlighting how measuring devices developed through the years to get to this point and the accuracy to which they still perform today.
