Purbeck Mining Museum
The Purbeck Mining Museum is dedicated to the history and heritage of Purbeck Ball Clay mining and its industrial narrow gauge railways.
Visit us to find out more about the history of clay mining in Purbeck and learn about the experience of miners and their families. You can also experience what it was like inside a typical Purbeck clay mine. Visit us to view the underground tunnel.

Due to the topography of the site - parts of the trail may be unsuitable for people with mobility issues.

Additional information

The site is within walking distance to Corfe Castle and Corfe Village. More bus 40 runs between Swanage and Poole. Alight at Norden Farm. Walk towards Norden roundabout (in the direction of Corfe Castle), then turn left towards Norden Station. Buses 30 and 35 from Swanage stop in Purbeck Park car park. From the bus stop, follow the signs to the museum. It is also accessible by train from Swanage Station.
