Victoria Flour Mill: Past, Present & Future
North East Lincolnshire Council, Town Hall, Town Hall Square, Grimsby, Lincolnshire, DN31 1HX
Victoria Flour Mill is one of Grimsby’s most iconic and overlooked industrial buildings. This exhibition will explore both the history and current story of the Grade II listed mill, uncovering untold stories, missing information and forgotten details through archival images, heritage research, drone surveys and ongoing community engagement.
The event will look at the building’s role within Grimsby’s industrial past, while also documenting the current journey to better understand, protect and bring the site back into meaningful use. Visitors will be able to see how the project has developed so far, including heritage investigations, surveys, community feedback and early concept ideas for the future of the building.
The exhibition will also explore how historic buildings like Victoria Flour Mill can be reused as modern-day community spaces, helping preserve them for future generations. Early concepts will show how the mill could one day become a climbing, heritage and community hub, creating new public access while celebrating the building’s historic character.
Members of The Crux Grimsby Climbing & Heritage CIC and supporting heritage professionals will be available throughout the event to share findings, answer questions and hear stories and memories from the local community as the project continues to evolve.
