Every Village Has a Story… Discover Ours!
Rowlands Castle Parish Hall, 11 Links Lane, Rowlands Castle, Hampshire, PO9 6AD
What secrets lie beneath the trees, behind familiar buildings, and along the quiet lanes of Rowlands Castle? From the remains of a Norman castle built almost a thousand years ago to the exploits of smugglers weaving through the surrounding woodland, our village is full of remarkable stories. Generations of local people have shaped its history through their trades, and sense of community, while organisations such as the Women's Institute, local churches, and brickworks helped build a community for over a century. Learn how Rowlands Castle played its part in one of history's greatest moments as troops gathered here before embarking for the D-Day landings. Join us as we bring to life the people, places, and everyday moments that have made Rowlands Castle the unique and welcoming community it is today. Whether you're a lifelong resident, new to the village, or simply curious about its past, there's a story here waiting for you.
Please join us for a 20 minute guided walk around the village green where you can explore twelve interesting points of Rowlands Castle history. On both days, Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th, the guided walks will be at 12:00 and 13:00, no pre-booking required. We look forward to showing you around our village green!
