Visit the Hemel Hempstead base of WW2 Polish Codebreakers

During the Second World War Polish cryptologists, based in Boxmoor, secretly monitored encoded German and Russian radio communications. They worked with cryptologists at Bletchley Park and other secret locations. It’s only in recent years that the story can be told.

The current house owners will tell of the many surprises they uncovered during their work to modernise the house during the 1990s and Roger Yapp, a local historian will be on hand to explain the role played by the Polish Army and Polish codebreakers during WW2.

Please note that the property is a private home, so we will only disclose the location to those people registered to attend the tours nearer the date. There is very little evidence of the original cryptologists’ work at the house, but very recently one of them, now aged 103 years, visited and decoded some of the mysteries about how and where the codebreakers worked in the house and grounds.
