View the Lord Mayor's Reception Room

Completed in the 1930s, the Lord Mayor's Reception Room sits beautifully within the Civic Centre on the first floor with views across the city from the large picture window. Once inside, a set of impressive stairs lead to a balcony view before entering the reception room through magnificent oak doors, surrounded by marble sculptures.
Our late Queen Elizabeth II appointed Southampton with Lord Mayor's status in 2022. The Lord Mayor's Reception room depicts the status with its historic artefacts and Coat of Arms, displayed within the room. For this reason, no other changes or embellishments can be made, so the room is ready at all times for all ceremonial functions.
