An opportunity to visit Clarence House, Humberstone Gate, Leicester and hear about its history which dates back to 1878.

Designed by local architect Edward Burgess, the building has been home to two different schools and a further education college, before being bought by its current owners, Age UK.

The building's Great Hall houses two recently restored war memorials and commemorating former pupils of the Newarke School (WW1) and Leicester City Boys' School (WW2). There will be a small exhibition, including information about some of the servicemen commemorated. In addition, there will be an opportunity to visit the Leicestershire and Rutland Family History Society's new research centre, based in the building.
