Join them and the Friends of Train Wood & Marriott's Way for a led walk taking in some of this fascinating history, beginning at the former City Station and heading up towards the Mile Cross bridge Hear stories about the life of the railway, the tragic crash of the Lady Jane, and even the manufacture of reinforced concrete, while glimpsing the infrastructure still visible in Train Wood and along the Marriott's Way today.

The walk will be mainly along the flat, asphalted surface of the Marriott's Way, with some possible stretches on the woodland paths in Train Wood. The woodland paths can be uneven and occasionally overgrown, although we will make every effort to ensure they are as safe and accessible as possible. If your access requirements will make the woodland stretches difficult or impossible, please let us know, as we can either adjust the route or ensure information is shared without having to enter the wood. Please note that the Marriott's Way does not have any public toilet facilities.
