Visitors will receive an expert-led guided tour of Britain's only surviving commercial 'floor' maltings, explaining how malt is made and why Warminster is the historical centre of the industry.

Warminster Maltings leads the market for the supply of local 'craft' beer with world wide acclaim. Listed Grade II building, dating from 18th century, one of the two remaining traditional 'floor' maltings in the country. Warminster Maltings was awarded a Blue plaque in 2004.

This is an opportunity to visit the oldest working maltings in Britain. Warminster Maltings celebrates turning 170 years old this year and additionally, celebrates the completion of a 24 year long repair and restoration project! The priority was always to protect the integrity of the external architecture of our Grade II* Listed malthouses. Today, they should look almost the same as the complex that William Morgan built back in 1855.

The guided tour, led by Maltings proprietor Robin Appel, will showcase the architecture and the fascinating history of these buildings, as well as explain the art of making traditional floor malt.
