Warminster Maltings Ltd
Warminster Maltings Ltd, 39 Pound Street, Warminster, Wiltshire, BA12 8NN
This is an opportunity to visit the oldest working maltings in Britain, which has now completed a 20+ yearlong repair and restoration project.
The priority was always to protect the integrity of the external architecture of the Grade 2* Listed malthouses. Today, they should look almost the same as the complex that William Morgan built back in 1855.
The guided tour, led by Maltings proprietor Robin Appel, will showcase the architecture and the fascinating history of these buildings, as well as explain the art of making traditional floor malt. It will also include a look at our carefully curated museum, which is a record of a formerly thriving industry, and one which still exists here in Warminster.
