South Shields Volunteer Life Brigade Watch House is a Grade Two listed building of significant historic and heritage importance. It houses a unique collection of figureheads, name boards artefacts and hundreds of photographs and fascinating display of lifesaving equipment since 1866. The Watch House continues to serve as the operational headquarters of today's Search and Rescue team working with HM Coastguard and all the other emergency services.
