Exhibition on the theme of "The Nature of Simplicity" including art works by local Quakers. Visit our lovely Grade II listed Georgian house and peaceful walled garden. Cream teas and refreshments available.

Our house has a number of interesting historic features outside and inside. From the top floor there are great views of Wolvesey Castle and the Bishops Palace. The garden is a beautiful enclosed spot with areas for quiet sitting or meditation - a perfect place to enjoy some peace and a drink, with maybe a cream tea!
Our exhibition this year is "The Nature of Simplicity". Simplicity has always been important to Quakers and in recent times it has expanded to include the awareness of the need for Sustainability. Our exhibition will include art works and other items on these themes.

The ground floor of the house and the garden are wheel chair and disabled friendly but not the upper floors unfortunately.

Additional information

The house and garden are an interest in themselves but also it is the Meeting House of Quakers in Winchester- a quiet hour of stillness each Sunday morning and Wednesday Lunchtime (half hour). Many other organisations and hirers use our house during the week. We have wardens who are on duty for most parts of the week.
