Guided walks in small groups around this beautiful and peaceful Victorian cemetery.

Join us for a guided walk around this beautiful and peaceful Victorian cemetery.

This small corner of Wisbech, approximately 3 acres in area, was established in 1836 as a garden cemetery primarily for non-conformists. The site was closed in 1972 and is maintained by The Friends of Wisbech General Cemetery as a valuable woodland wildlife habitat. Working to a management plan, this small group of volunteers aims to provide a place which is both inviting and interesting to visitors. Paths around the cemetery are well maintained and visitors will be able to see the monuments and hear about the work that is undertaken throughout the year to encourage a variety of habitats, provide a quiet place for people to walk or sit and to conserve the monuments. There are 10 war graves from the WWI and one from WWII in the cemetery.

The chapel which was restored by the Wisbech Society in 2018 will be open during the day and volunteers present to show people round. Burial records will also be available.
