Woolwich Works
11 No 1 Street, London, Greater London, SE18 6HD
Heritage Open Day returns to the architectural award-winning Grade II and II* listed heritage buildings of Woolwich Works! Our over 300 year old buildings have some amazing stories to tell. They've welcomed King George III, housed a firework factory and a theatre, and even the Royal Artillery Band!
Always evolving, Woolwich Works is now a multi-faceted event space at the heart of our community with a wide variety of programming including commercial hires, workshops, live music, dance, comedy, café, resident artistic companies, fun for families, and more!
Join us as we celebrate Heritage Open Day on Saturday 21 September with a brimming programme of activity, for all ages, taking place across the building:
- Guided Tours: We’ll have three guided tours throughout the day, at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.
- Crafternoons: we’ll have 5 crafternoons from 11am where young children can make some sparkling fireworks crafts and create a suffragette-style protest sign!
- Talks: The adaptation of heritage buildings into performance spaces, Windrush Front Room, History of the Royal Arsenal and Mudlark Nicola White!
- Revisit King George III's open-air feast of beans and bacon with a modern day Bean Feast in our Visitors' Book Café (incl. vegetarian options!)
- Sketch the site from a perch in our sunny Courtyard - all ages and abilities welcome!
- Relax and enjoy our open air Courtyard and Garden Shed Bar
Heritage Open Day is free for all to attend. Booking for tours and talks is recommended.
