Join us as we celebrate Heritage Open Days at Medway Archives Centre. We're delighted that Short Brothers Aviation Heritage CIC will be at the event from 10am to 1pm.

Short Brothers Aviation Heritage CIC will be at Medway Archives Centre from 10am to 1pm with a display about the famous Short Brothers aircraft manufacturers, a fondly remembered company that was based in Medway and employed so many of its residents to develop ground breaking aircraft. During the early-mid twentieth century it was common to see flying boats and seaplanes moored on the River Medway, close to the Seaplane Works at Rochester and seeing these aircraft flying over Medway. Short Brothers also has a factory at Rochester airport building land based aircraft including the Short Stirling.
Short Brothers were one of a number of thriving industries with a riverside location. Call in to discover more about the lives of these people who worked on the River Medway.
