An exploration of the Heavy Anti-Aircraft Battery, Command Post, and Cold War observation post at Maker Heights. This includes a rare opportunity to see inside the Command Post.

A local historical expert will lead visitors on an immersive walk through some key anti-aircraft and observation positions which protected Plymouth's strategic harbour during the Second World War. These defences look over one of Cornwall's most well beloved Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and as well as providing insight into one of the most hotly contested areas during the Battle of Britain will show panoramic views of the Plymouth Sound.

This short walk is partly over rough ground. Meet at 10:15 at the Visitor Centre, Barrack Block.

The walk will cover rural footpaths, woodland, and rough ground, it is essential to bring suitable footwear, and attendees must be physically fit as we cannot recommend this tour for anyone with mobility issues.
