Zion Graveyard Attercliffe
Zion Graveyard, Lawrence Street, Attercliffe, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S9 3RG
Volunteers from Friends of Zion Graveyard Attercliffe will be giving hourly talks about the history of this hidden gem. With a story that dates back to 1805 this tiny space holds a big history. During the past eight years, the site has been transformed from an overgrown wasteland to a wildlife sanctuary, every grave uncovered has been researched and archives investigated. A fascinating history has been pieced together of a thriving community which included Mary Anne Rawson and her mother Elizabeth Read, founder members of the 1825 Sheffield Ladies Anti-Slavery Society.

Wheelchair and pushchair access from Ferguson Street S9 3WL
The entrance from Lawrence Street is narrow and sloping. There is easier level access from Ferguson Street by the brick wall at the end of the road. Unfortunately there are no toilet facilities on site although the nearby Don Valley Pub is always very welcoming.
