Suffolk’s own ‘Little Italy’ at Ickworth Estate

National Trust, Rotunda, Ickworth, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, IP29 5QE

Come along with friends and family to celebrate Suffolk's own 'Little Italy' at Ickworth Estate, a week filled with engaging experiences, art, and history. Immerse yourself in the essence of Italy right here in Suffolk!

Join us during Heritage Open Days at Ickworth Estate as we explore the Italian influences and inspirations that have left a lasting mark on this historic estate. Immerse yourself in a unique experience, celebrating the architectural, artistic, and cultural heritage that has shaped Ickworth's identity and were the vision of the forward-thinking Earl-Bishop.

Delight in the Earl-Bishop’s vast Italianate palace, both a home and a gallery for his remarkable collection of artworks, inspired by his travels abroad. During this week you can book on to a morning tour around Ickworth House, showcasing the exquisite architecture and opulent interiors. Take a leisurely stroll through Ickworth's beautifully shaped Italian gardens, appreciating the fusion of Italian and English garden styles across the estate. Engage your little ones with fun and educational activities inspired by the artwork and architecture at Ickworth.

Savour some delectable Italian-inspired dishes at the estate's cafes. Visit our Contemporary Heirlooms exhibition with the Suffolk Craft Society in our Gallery. An experience where the past meets the present, and the art of today lays the foundations for the heirlooms of tomorrow. Some activities may require pre-booking or additional charges. Please visit our website nationaltrust.org.uk/Ickworth for more information and event updates.
