A restored Grade II listed Elizabethan Dovecote built around 1565. Downstairs entrance room, replica early 20th century parlour and scullery. Upstairs two rooms dedicated to the current exhibition “How Wollaton Grew from Medieval Hamlet to 20th Century City Suburb”. There will be a guided walk at 3.00pm around Wollaton Village including St Leonard’s Church and the digitised medieval Wollaton Antiphonal.
Uneven floors, steep stairs, no toilets. On the No 30 and 2 bus routes but street parking is available nearby with disabled parking at St Leonard’s Community Centre.

Access Information
There is level access on the ground floor housing our Victorian parlour and some of our displays. Our exhibition area is on the first floor - access is restricted by the steep stairs of this very old building: children and the elderly may need help . Street parking is available on Wollaton Road, and Smythson Drive - disabled parking is nearby at St Leonard's Community Centre, Bramcote Lane. Accessible toilets are available at the Community Centre, and the Church (please note, there are no toilets at the Dovecote).
Additional information
Max 20 people per tour/session. The Dovecote is owned by the City of Nottingham, and leased to the Wollaton Historical & Conservation Society who maintain the museum and exhibits. There are related Open Days nearby at St Leonard's Church, and The Nottingham Industrial Museum; and over 30 other venues in the neighbouring areas of Attenborough, Beeston, Bramcote, Chilwell, Stapleford and Toton - co-ordinated by Beeston Civic Society. Directions
Off Bramcote Lane, Wollaton (opposite the Library) - just a few yards from the village centre, St Leonard's Church, the Village Pump, and the Admiral Rodney PH. Limited parking (and accessible toilets) available at the Community Centre, Dovecote Drive.
