Brilliant Bamboo Parklet – From Pottery to Bamboo

Come and explore the Brilliant Bamboo Parklet in Stoke, a green and creative space with a fascinating industrial past.
Long before the bamboo arrived, this site formed part of Stoke-on-Trent’s pottery story. It was once home to George Jones and Sons and Trent / Crescent Potteries. Generations of people worked in and around the buildings that once stood here.
For Heritage Open Days, we’re opening the Parklet and particularly want to hear from people who remember the site as it used to be.

We're especially interested to see examples of ceramics made at the Trent / Crescent Potteries and to hear any stories connected with them.
Today the site is being transformed into a bamboo parklet - a place for creativity, growing, nature, making, volunteering and community activity – adding a new chapter to a site that has been part of Stoke’s working landscape for generations.

Accessibility details
The parklet is on brownfield land and is accessed by a short grave path. The main spaces are on a concrete base, but can be uneven in a couple of places. Please contact [email protected] if you need further information about access on the site.
Additional information
Please wear suitable footwear to walk down a short gravel path to get to the main park area. To find us from Sainsbury's head to the back of the carpark. You will see a path that runs down the side of a block of flats and we are at the end of the path.
