Hear about the finding of the Villa in 1877, the 1920’s excavations and the recent discoveries including a significant find this year of a previously unknown part of the Villa.

Keynsham Cemetery is a peaceful Victorian burial ground and the location of a major Roman archaeological site. The accepted story is that most of the Villa has been lost with burials and there is nothing more to learn of this important site. Be prepared to think differently after you hear about the finding of the Villa in 1877, the 1920’s excavations and the recent discoveries including a significant find this year of a previously unknown part of the Villa.
There are speakers from Bath and Northeast Somerset Heritage Services, Bath Conservation Architects, Bath & Counties Archaeology Society and Keynsham Town Council.
