A guided walk around Maker Heights Defences

Local expert Andrew Martin will lead visitors on a tour of the Maker Heights defences, constructed in the 18th Century to ward of the threat of a joint Spanish and French invasion. At the same time, the 32nd Cornwall Regiment of Foot will be setting up camp at Maker Heights and demonstrating the skills required by an 18th Century Infantry Regiment.
The tour will last for approximately 90 minutes from 11:00 - 12:30. Attendees are asked to meet at the Visitors Centre at 10:45.
The Tour will begin at the Visitors Centre withing the old Barrack Block, only a short walk from the car park at Maker Heights. The walk will cover woodland paths and rough ground, so sturdy footwear is essential. Visitors must be physically fit and mobile.
