  • Multiple dates available
  • In person
  • Pre-booking required

Sociologists and local residents David Skinner and Will Brown’s lead a guided walk around the ever-expanding Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

The Cambridge Biomedical Campus brings together major medical, scientific, and commercial initiatives in one location on the southern fringe of Cambridge. It is the largest life sciences site in Europe. Currently approximately 22,000 people work there and by 2030 this figure will have grown to 30,000. Further expansion is planned until 2050.

Sociologists and local residents David Skinner and Will Brown’s project A Sense of Pace considers the past, present, and future of the Campus from the perspective of the people who live around it. Join them for a guided walk around the site and for a discussion of the causes and consequences of Cambridge's rise as a global science city.

The walk starts at the bus station by the entrance to Addenbrookes Hospital and lasts for approximately 90 minutes. It will cover 2-3 kilometres on flat ground - largely on pavement.
