A Park and its People: A Talk on the history of the park

As part of the Heritage Open Days 2026, the Friends of CHaT Parks will be holding two walks in Wakefield Park. The Saturday walk, due to a slight amendment, will be a shorter walk with a longer talk.
On Saturday 12th September, Ian Deighton will lead a short walk and talk focusing on the history Wakefield Castle on Lowe Hill.
Meet at 2.30pm in the car park opposite the Athletics Stadium in Thornes Park, Horbury Road, Wakefield, WF2 8TY.
The short walk and talk will last about one hour. Pre-booking is necessary.
