Another chance to see inside this unique historic property and learn about the people who lived and worked here.

Following last year's successful first Heritage Open Day at Abbey House, Glastonbury, we open the doors again for the chance see inside and learn about the unique history of this property.

Abbey House overlooks the ruins of Glastonbury Abbey, and was built as a gentleman's residence in the 1820s with the view in mind. In line with this year's HOD theme, we aim to bring you some of the everyday working lives of those who provided the backbone of the retreat house and the earlier gentleman's residence - the gardeners, kitchen lads, and ladies-in-waiting.

Take a tour of the building on the hour across the two open days, Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September, visit our exhibition to see and hear about the house's past, or come and watch some carpentry with our costumed Victorian carpenter. Refreshments on sale to enjoy with a view of the abbey ruins.

On Saturday 19th, join a free bookable talk on the house history, which will be given at 7 pm.
