Afternoon tea with Teddy at St Laurence Church, Upton Slough

If you come down to St Laurence today, you're sure of a big surprise! Bring along Ted and have your own Teddy Bear picnic!

Our play area will be available and you can put your Teddy knowledge to the test with our Teddy Bear quiz? Suitable for all ages.

Poetry readings will also be taking place, supported by the local poetry society. St Laurence preserves available and small pocket money gifts while stocks last.

Alongside the afternoon tea and picnic, St Laurence's Church, is also hosting guided tours of the church and churchyard and a special 1000th anniversary Exhibition for Winnie the Pooh, from 17-20th Sept. (Please see separate event listing for further details.)

Full wheelchair / pram access in church, may not be able to access all areas of churchyard. Sorry, toilet not disabled. Children please remain with adult, in churchyard do not climb on monuments. Additional information

The Chancel & Nave are mediaeval with Victorian South Aisle. The building lends itself to many interests - faith / history / astronomy (burial place of Sir William Herschel) / architecture / links with Ooty in Nilgiri mountains of SW India . Special links with Merton Priory (London). To visit the church is free but donations are much appreciated for upkeep of ancient building. Small gifts and homemade preserves available to buy.
