All Saints Church, Hemblington - Small group tours of the interior and exterior of the church
All Saints Church, Church Lane, Hemblington, Norwich, Norfolk, NR13 4EF
Despite the church being in a tucked away location out of the village, it is well worth a visit not only for the historic features of the building but also its very special churchyard which is managed for biodiversity & wildlife through informal community partnerships spearheaded by the Friends of the Church work with various local conservation partners NWT, BADCOG, BVCG as well as with members of the church congregation.
We would welcome small groups of people to come along on Sunday, 20th September, by appointment. Details of the internal architecture including the unique wall painting of St Christopher's life, before and after his conversion, plus the recoloured Medieval font, rood stairs, piscinae and early bench ends will be outlined. The exterior of the church is also discussed including the different stones used, differing window styles and also how the churchyard has been managed for wildlife.

There is level access from the road into the church and a wheelchair-accessible WC is in the north porch. Walking around the exterior of the church needs extra care. The ground is not level and there may be trip hazards. Sturdy shoes might be useful.
An exhibition of oil paintings will also be available at All Saints during the weekend of 12/13 September. See separate entry for more information.
