Robert Thompson, the “Mouseman”, left his mark on Ampleforth Abbey and Ampleforth College, which together house probably the biggest known collection of “Mouseman” furniture. The influence of the distinguished 20th-century architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott can also be seen here, with Ampleforth Abbey Church representing one of his major works. Admire the heritage and craftsmanship of Ampleforth Abbey and Ampleforth College at this special event, and learn more about the community of Benedictine monks who have called Ampleforth home since 1802.
