Come to a taster session where we will look at Ancestry Library Edition and give you some hints and tips to start researching your own family history! This will be a relaxed and informal session.

Ever wondered about how to start researching your family history? Then come along and have a taster session to get some hints and tips and to have a look at the Ancestry and Find My Past Library editions at Eccles Library. This will be a relaxed and informal session, although we do ask that you have some computer experience using a mouse and keyboard.
We will have some staff on hand to talk you through Ancestry Library edition, how to search, and offer some hints and tips for researching your family tree. We'll also look at other resources you can use in Salford Libraries to delve deeper into your families past.

Directions:
The Library is on Church St/Barton Lane corner next to the Eccles Cenotaph and opposite Aldi. There are Bus stops directly outside, and on the opposite side of the road. It is a 3 minute walk to the Bus terminus and the Eccles Tram stop. There are frequent services to Manchester, The Trafford Centre, Warrington, Bolton and Salford Media City. It is a 5 minute walk to Eccles Train Station at the top of Church St.

Accessibility details

There are a few disabled parking bays in the library car park. There are also disabled parking bays in the car park opposite at Eccles Leisure Centre. You can also park for a limited time at Morrisons in Eccles, which is a 5 minute walk from the library. There is a ramp at the main entrance with automatic doors. There are baby change facilities and accessible toilets. We are a BOOBS accredited breastfeeding friendly building.
