Take a tour of our community garden, a space that’s been run as a market garden and nursery for more than 100 years and see how food is grown in an organic way. We will also have a display of heritage about the area and the two families whose lives were intertwined – Thomas George Tickler, whose fruit farm surrounded the site and went into Tickler’s jam, and Councillor William Thickett, whose family ran the market garden until it became the council nurseries in the 1960s. Visitors will also be able to enjoy our art and nature walk, which takes in our heritage apple orchard.
