Artist-led Drop-in: Make a Countryman Favour with Robin Clements

Bradwell Windmill, off Nightingale Crescent, Bradville, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK13 7UE

  • 13 Sep 2025
  • In person
  • Pre-booking not required

Learn how to make a Countryman’s favour: a buttonhole made of plaited straw. Traditionally, it is given to a loved one as a token of love and, if the love is reciprocated, worn over their heart.

Join the artist, Robin Clements, in making traditional 'Countryman's Favours' (often called corn dollies) from wheat and explore the Grade II-listed Bradwell Windmill, which will be open for demonstration milling. This event forms part of The Bradwell Windmill Project and is organised in association with Milton Keynes Museum.
