Bankfield Museum will be opening up to visitors on Sunday 8th September to give visitors to the area an opportunity to step inside the grand italianate mansion and enjoy the variety of its exhibitions programme, Costume Drama, located in the Fashion Gallery, an exhibition that brings together a host of costumes from the world of TV and film costume drama, Let's go Shopping! a nostalgic glimpse into the Calderdale high street of yesterday, Animals in Art featuring artworks from Calderale's collections and HERDS, an exhibition of work by local school children looking at the challenges animals are facing due to climate change.

Bankfield Museum is an historic building and has no lifts to the upper floors. There is an accessible entrance to the rear of the building, signposted from the car park. There are public toilets, an accessible toilet and baby changing facilities located on the ground floor. There is a ground floor cafe area and gift shop where a selection of drinks and snacks are served. There is free car parking on site and admission to the museum is free. Bus 576 Bradford via Queensbury runs frequently from Halifax Bus Station up Boothtown Road
