This hour-long tour by our knowledgeable volunteer genealogist will help you to discover the stories of some of those buried in Rectory Lane Cemetery - and link them to the buildings you see around you in Berkhamsted today. Accessibility details
There is no general public parking at the cemetery - but there are two Blue Badge parking spaces accessible within the Rectory Lane gates. There is plenty of parking within the town - and the cemetery is easily found off the High Street by foot. There is seating throughout the cemetery. Fully accessible wide paths take you through the two-thirds of the cemetery where the tour will take place. The final top third has a steeper grass path.
Additional information
The tour has been put together and is delivered by the head of our volunteer genealogy team - who are steadily researching all 7,000 people buried in the cemetery. He does not use a microphone so we rely upon the tour participants gathering together to listen at each graveside on the tour. He is always very happy to answer questions.
