A timeline of Berkhamsted history through a photographic exhibition of lost buildings from Roman times to present day.

You can follow a brief history of Berkhamsted from Roman times, through medieval, early modern to our present day. Visitors can learn about some of the lost buildings of Berkhamsted. The photos,with a brief history and explanation of their unique importance to the town, will show the homes people lived in, the places where they worked and the pubs where they drank. Find out where these buildings were located and what the Town would have looked like years ago.

Directions:
St Peter's Church is on the corner of the High Street and Castle Street Entrance to the exhibition is via the South door accessible from the High Street Although the exhibition is on everyday, visitors should be mindful and respect other events that may be taking place in the church.

The church is open, but visitors to the exhibition are requested to be respectful of church service timings and other events that may be booked in the church. There is limited disability parking near the church. Parking is available in the multi-storey car park in the centre of town about a 5 minute walk from the church and limited paid parking on the road.

Additional information

There is limited on street paid parking.Visitors should be aware that a market is on on Saturdays and Wednesdays so the town will be extra busy.
