Berwick Magistrates Court
Berwick upon Tweed Magistrates Court, 40 Church Street, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, TD15 1DX
The building was opened in 1901 as a Court and Police Station. It was designed by Robert Burns Dick, a Newcastle architect. The Magistrates heard cases relating to minor crimes committed in the area. Initially, it operated as a Petty Sessions Court and latterly as a Magistrates Court. The exhibition will highlight some of the crimes committed in Berwick in the past and how the town dealt with law and order.
