Bethesda Chapel 2025

Bethesda Chapel, Albion Street, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, ST1 1QF

  • Multiple dates available
  • In person
  • Pre-booking not required

An opportunity to look at the chapel known as 'The Cathedral of the Potteries' and its interesting and unusual architecture. When it was built over 200 years ago it was said to have the largest span of any chapel outside London.

There will be a display of historic photos showing how it looked before it closed in 1985 and the damage done by vandals when it was unused. The fact that it is not fully restored makes it more interesting as it shows some of the infrastructure.
There will be a display of historic photos and stories of Bethesda men who fought in World War One.
The organ will be played at intervals during the opening.
