Book Box Scavenger Hunt
The Leeds Library, 18 Commercial Street, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS1 6AL
The Leeds Library was founded in 1768 by a collective of Leeds people who wanted to come together to create a subscription library for the city as, at the time and still today, nothing quite like this existed! We have been in our beautiful Grade II* listed building on Commercial Street since 1808, tucked above the bustle below as a stunning book-lovers sanctuary.
This year for Heritage Open Days week, we have a brand new way to explore the shelves of our gorgeous Georgian library.
Come and try to find and solve all the riddles hidden amongst the books, and learn a few facts about the every day history of the building that has been enjoyed by the people of Leeds for almost 220 years.
Can you find all the special wooden books hidden throughout the building and solve all the riddles?
This scavenger hunt will be available for anyone to try their hand at everyday during Heritage Open Days week 1pm-3pm, apart from Sundays when the library is closed.
