Brierley Hill in Bloom: A Heritage Flower Trail
High Street, Brierley Hill, West Midlands, DY5 2AA
Let Brierley Hill in Bloom lead you on a colourful journey through the town centre this Heritage Open Day.
Five specially designed planting schemes create a trail between participating venues and activities, helping visitors navigate the wider programme while discovering stories from Brierley Hill’s past.
Each group of planters has been inspired by a different person, place, landmark or industry that helped shape the town. The carefully chosen flowers, foliage and colours contain clues to the heritage they represent.
Descriptions displayed beside the planters reveal the thinking behind each design and explain its connection to the surrounding area. Take time to read them as you travel from place to place, and discover how familiar streets are linked to generations of local enterprise, industry and community life.
The trail can be explored in either direction and at your own pace. Complete the full route or enjoy individual displays as you move between the churches, market, library and other Heritage Open Day locations.
Look closely as you explore. There may be a few little characters and unexpected surprises hiding among the flowers for younger visitors to spot along the way.
