British Oak Centenary Celebrations

We will be celebrating a hundred years since the current building opened by highlighting the heritage aspects of the building which are very much still evident. Also see the changes in the way the building has been used over time. Ladies you may spend time in the Gentlemen’s Smoking Room – but no, you’re not allowed to smoke!
At 1pm there will be a special 100 pint giveaway – 100 pints available for the price of a pint in 1926.
The pub has a proud history of providing musical entertainment for the community and we will continue this with live music from 4pm.
There will be display of photographs, news cuttings and other materials relating to the last 100 years of the pub’s history and also that of its predecessor (also called the British Oak).
There will also be information about people who have been associated with the building (in 1939 it was home to 4 bar staff as well as a family of four).
Food and beer from local breweries will be available throughout the day.

Buses 45 and 47 along the Pershore Road. Numbers 27 and 11 stop nearby. Trains from Bournville station (5 mins) or Pineapple Road station (15 mins) are within walking distance. Limited car parking on site, bike rack available.

There is step free access to the main pub building and the terrace however, the main garden and bowling green aren’t wheelchair friendly.
